Invaders and Settlers
The Romans
The children in Year 3 & 4 visited Wakefield Museum in the Autumn term. After seeing the Roman artefacts, this led to the construction of the following :-

Roman Banner - 'The Seahorse'

Roman Shield

Roman Sandals - these were made using measurements from our teacher Mr Peart's feet!

This is the Roman display in the school's Main Entrance. These have been carefully made like 'life size' replicas.
The Anglo - Saxons

The children researched the Anglo - Saxons and the findings at Sutton Hoo. These two masks
were designed and made from thick cardboard, papa mache and painted with metallic paint.

The children used string to give extra effect on this mask.
'The Norsemen cometh!' - The Vikings
In this topic the children constructed a model of a Viking Logship and called it 'Odins Raven' , used collage to make Viking warriors and put them in another Longship with their shields. The children were really creative and enjoyed doing this.

Vikings sailing in their 'Drakkar'.

Odin's Raven
Fearless Viking warriors

'Olaf'

'Erik'

'Lief'
Diversity Week - Chinese New Year

'Creative flair!' the children designed and made Chinese Dragon masks.

We made Chinese Lanterns and this wonderful dragon - every child in the class participated in its construction, the red and gold scales were carefully stuck on.
